Who is ALIVE?
"ALIVE Charity Foundation has fast become a recognised non-governmental organisation registered under the Commission of Voluntary Organisations (VO 801). Being the first foundation locally to raise funds for medical research in Malta, we always believed that the most effective way to combat cancer was to treat those who may be affected and most of all carry out strategic research. In this way, one can speed up diagnosis, identify causes and eventually identify cures. This is why the Foundation’s aim has always been to fund Ph.D. Scholarships at the University of Malta. Since its inception in 2013, with the support of corporate companies and the Maltese Community at large, ALIVE Charity Foundation has donated over €135,000 towards breast cancer research, €170,000 towards children’s cancer research and €80,000 towards a children’s recreational area within Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre. Between 2019 and 2021, the sum of €227,000 was donated to the University of Malta in order to sustain seven cancer research projects. The enthusiasm and the momentum created over the past years was abruptly halted by the pandemic outbreak. The Plan:
May 1, 2023, from 8am onwards, we will be doing guided tours on a booking-first basis from our website. We plan to open two tours and open more, if needed.
While going around Manoel Island, we will be teaching you the basics of kayaking and pointing out some historical and architectural sights as we see them.
50% of all proceeds from tours will go to Alive
Tours will start at 8am and 9:30am.

Cost: 20 euro per person, with extra donations welcome (see donation links below). Half is due on the website to secure your place, and the remaining is due on the day, paid to Anthony and the ALIVE representative, directly.
This event will be on tandem sit on top kayaks. No single paddlers for this event.
Past donations will not count for this event, only on the day please.
If you own your own kayak and want to participate, you only owe the donation part Just let us know when you want to arrive and paddle with us.
ALIVE RECEIPTS WILL BE GIVEN DIRECTLY ON THE DAY (and are always issued by official ALIVE receipt book) for the donation part of your tuition.
An online receipt will be issued immediately upon booking your slot on the website.

Some more information on ALIVE: Last year through the ALIVE Cycling Challenge, €90,000 were raised and donated to the Research, Innovation and Development Trust (RIDT) solely for cancer research. Throughout these 10 years a total of €700,000 were raised and donated. (source: Alive FB Page)
