THE FOUNDERS
Meet the founders that are the heart of Get Out and Kayak Malta.
DANIELA “LELLA”
Lella is the founder of Get Out and Kayak Malta and a certified and registered Paddle UK Sea Kayak Leader.
She plays a central role in planning and guiding GOAK adventures, with a strong focus on safety, group management and making every paddler feel welcome and supported.
During tours, Lella is often found towards the back of the group, keeping an eye on everyone and making sure no one gets left behind. She also captures much of GOAK’s photography and video content along the way.
One of her favourite places to paddle and share with guests is Kemmuna, better known as Comino, with its spectacular caves, lagoons and clear water.
Off duty, you will usually find her paddling her green Wavesport Hydra, appropriately named “Kiwi.”
TURU
Turu is a co-founder of Get Out and Kayak Malta and a certified and registered Paddle UK Sea Kayak Leader.
He helps plan and guide GOAK’s adventures, combining local coastal knowledge with weather awareness, safety briefings and a genuine love of helping people become more confident on the water.
Turu is also GOAK’s photographer and drone operator, capturing Malta’s coastline and the adventures shared by the community from sea and sky.
One of his favourite routes is the spectacular west-coast paddle from Gnejna Bay towards Popeye Village, with its cliffs, caves and rugged scenery.
When he gets the chance to paddle for himself, he is usually aboard his yellow Wavesport sea kayak, affectionately named “Il-Banana ta’ Turu.”
Yes, he really does love bananas...and sunflowers ;-)
